Who is this for?

The aim of CoR is to make sure everyone in the supply chain shares responsibility for ensuring breaches of the HVNL do not occur. Under CoR laws, if you are named as a party in the chain of responsibility and you exercise (or have the capability of exercising) control or influence over any transport task, you have a responsibility to ensure the HVNL is complied with. Parties in the supply chain include those who book, pack, load, unload or receive goods that have been, or will be transported via road transportation. It also includes those who own, employ, engage, manage, operate or schedule the use of heavy vehicles.

The law recognises that multiple parties may be responsible for offences committed by the drivers and operators of heavy vehicles, and a person may be a party in the supply chain in more ways than one. Legal liability applies to all parties for their actions or inactions, and it is for this reason that all staff at all levels should complete this course.

The course can be completed by anyone wanting to understand the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) as it applies to the freight forwarding & supply chain industry and gain accreditation in a nationally recognised unit of competency. The course can be completed by all staff at all levels as CoR regulations apply to all. This course is suitable for:

  • Logistics Organisations
  • Road Transport Organisations
