ensuring the safety of the heavy vehicle journey and mitigating public safety
risks.

TLIF0009 – Ensure the safety of transport activities is a nationally accredited unit of competency designed to ensure you understand your Chain of
Responsibility legal obligations and responsibilities.

Assessment
As this course includes a nationally recognised unit of competence, TLIF0009 – Ensure the safety of transport activities (Chain of Responsibility), a formal assessment must be conducted to determine your competency.

You must complete the assessment after you have completed the learning/training materials. The assessment must be deemed satisfactory by an MFC Assessor to demonstrate competence in the unit of competency and receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. Competently completed units of competency can be used towards obtaining a related qualification.

Delivery Mode

MFC delivers its online e-learning courses via the learning platform Cloud Assess, which you can access at any time that suits you
You will complete the training and assessment material on your own and in your own time — this is a self-paced, self-study program, with no training sessions with an MFC Trainer
Even though this is an online course, MFC is always available to clarify any part of the course you need help with
As this is an online e-learning course, you will require a computer device and sufficient internet access to complete it. All course material is provided via the Cloud Assess platform

Entry Requirements

Ability to read, write, and comprehend English text and complete basic mathematical calculations to at least the level of Australian Year 10 schooling or equivalent
Completion of a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy assessment is required to ensure you have the necessary skill level before your course enrolment is processed
You must work for a business that operates within the transport and logistics industry and aligns with at least one party in the Chain of Responsibility

Course Duration

The course will take approximately 10–20 hours to complete, depending on your level of industry experience and current knowledge of Chain of Responsibility
From the date of enrolment, you have three months to complete the course
Within that time, you are given a maximum of five attempts at the assessment to receive a satisfactory outcome from an MFC Assessor
If you have attempted the assessment five times, or the three-month course period has ended, you cannot attempt the assessment again

Accreditation:
Upon successful completion of the training and assessment requirements, you will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment of Competency in TLIF0009 Ensure the Safety of Transport Activities (Chain of Responsibility)

CoR is Everyone’s Responsibility

Chain of Responsibility aims to ensure that everyone in the road transport supply chain shares responsibility for preventing breaches of the HVNL from occurring.

If you are named as a party in the Chain of Responsibility, which means you exercise (or have the capability of exercising) control or influence over the safety of the heavy vehicle journey, you have a responsibility to ensure the safety of your transport activities and to eliminate or reduce the risk to public safety.

Parties in the Chain of Responsibility include those who arrange (book) road transport with a provider, pack, load, unload or receive goods that have been, or will be, transported via road transportation; those who employ or engage road transport drivers, and those who control the use of the heavy vehicle or schedule loads the heavy vehicle will carry.

The law recognises that multiple parties may be responsible for offences
committed by the drivers and operators of heavy vehicles. Legal liability applies to a business and all its employees who are parties in the Chain of Responsibility for their actions or inactions. For this reason, all employees, regardless of level, should complete this course.

Who is My Freight Career?

My Freight Career (MFC) is both an RTO (Registered Training Organisation), and GTO (Group Training Organisation). We have been successfully delivering training in transport and logistics nationally recognised units of competency, certifications, and qualifications, for the freight forwarding, logistics and supply chain industries for more than 20 years. Our Assessors are industry experienced and qualified, and our material is relevant and current to the freight forwarding, logistics and supply chain industries.

Do I have to complete the course in one go, or can I log in and out when needed?

You can login as many times as you like. You can save your work at anytime and return as many times as required during your training.

When does the course start?

As the course is self-paced the start date will be once you choose to enrol and payment is received. It is then up to the learner to complete the course at a time that suits them via tablet, PC & smartphone.

What happens if I do not know the answer to a question or can't complete an assessment?

You can review your learning resources at any time to assist you when completing the assessment. MFC Assessors will provide you with notes for any question you have not answered satisfactorily and you can then reattempt the question. You have until the end of your course period or up to five attempts (whichever comes first) to successfully complete the assessment.
