In response to claims that the then Australian Customs and Border Protection Service’s opinion of the value of “National Examinations” had changed, “ACBPN 2015/17” was released. Page 2 of that document advised that:
a) its position remained unchanged
b) myfreightcareer continued to offer its Customs Broking Experience Assessment.

Pre-National Examination Study Groups
myfreightcareer will host Pre-National Experience Assessment Study Groups, allowing intending participants in the ” myfreightcareer Customs Broking Experience Assessment” to become familiar with the concept, style, structure and content of a typical Experience Assessment. The Study Group is presented in 2 x 3 hour sessions per week over a 5 week period, starting during the week commencing 7 September 2015.
The Concept
The Customs Broking Experience Assessment is designed to test the “customs broking experience” of a candidate. Each assessment seeks to test the candidate’s ability to provide advice and respond to real life situations that are encountered by Customs Brokers in the normal course of the business of international trade, rather than being a more intensive test of the knowledge gained during completion of the “approved course of study”. The situations presented in the assessments are drawn from actual business events and the responses should provide appropriate advice and take the action expected of a professional business adviser, i.e. a Customs Broker.
